Location

Vila Bohemia stands at Strada Rotarilor 17, in the Lower Town, the old quarter spreading below Sibiu's Upper Town. The street is quiet, yet the historic centre is close: Piața Mică and the Bridge of Lies are about 450 m away, Piața Mare 550 m, and the Passage of Stairs, which links the two halves of the city, 600 m.

Getting there

Sibiu International Airport is 3.9 km away, around 6 minutes by car. The taxi rank is to the left of the arrivals exit, and the information desk can call a taxi for you; choose one with a meter and ask for a receipt. Bolt also operates at the airport. City bus 11 stops right outside arrivals but does not call at the railway station, so you will need to change.

Sibiu railway station, on the Brașov–Sibiu–Arad line, is about 10 minutes' walk away; from Bucharest the fastest train takes around five and a half hours. By car, Sibiu is on the A1 motorway. Public street parking is currently free with no reservation needed, and the courtyard has only a few spaces, so a space cannot be guaranteed.

What to see

The Bridge of Lies, Romania's first cast-iron bridge, built in 1859–1860, leads off Piața Mică; legend says it collapses if someone tells a lie while crossing it. The Council Tower is closed to visitors for restoration until around January 2028, but is still worth admiring from the square. Piața Mare is home to the Brukenthal Museum, opened in 1817, and the Gothic Evangelical Cathedral rises beside the Passage of Stairs.

Strada Cetății preserves the Carpenters', Potters' and Harquebusiers' towers. The ASTRA Museum in Dumbrava, about 6 km away, is reached by bus 13 from the railway station. The Christmas Market in Piața Mare runs from 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, and FITS, the international theatre festival, is scheduled for 18–27 June 2027.
